The Joy for All cat is made by Ageless Innovation, which was spun out of Hasbro in 2018. Australian dementia and mobility retailers sell it, sometimes under the name Interactive Companion Pet.
Choosing between them
Pick the simpler cat for most people with moderate to severe dementia. Its movements are slow and gentle, and it runs on standard batteries that staff or family can replace. The rechargeable cat suits someone who enjoys more response and whose carers will keep it charged.
Choose a coat colour close to a pet the person once had. Families often say this helps. Turn the sound down if the person shares a room or becomes unsettled by noise.
What to expect
